This concept app was created for a 24h non-stop hackaton, sponsored by Apple, Google and Microsoft, in Lisbon. The challenge of the event was to create an app that could improve on personal finance, social care or the sharing economy.
The name of the brand is inspired in the simple act of tossing a coin, where 'toss' also becomes an insight acronyms for the app: Transations Of Small Scale.
The idea is an app that allows easy, zero-config money transactions (mobile-2-mobile) of small scale. A digital replacement for pocket change. Through out the ideation process new features were defined targeted for commercial or charity uses. The logo was created to represent the app concept in a very quick and obvious way.
The app would integrate all comm technologies such as bluetooth, NFC/iBeacon and GPS to pair the issuer and receiver of the transaction. Features included:
- Sending money to friends nearby
- Tipping restaurant/bar staff
- Donating to charity
- Control transaction history
- Define limits and funding
All the work was done in 24h non-stop, where I've worked on all aspects of the concept from logo to screens and funcional prototype (in proto.io platform), running on an iPhone.
